Ready, steady fight! Four tuff guys are changing the way chocolate is being sold in France.
Dead delicious has launched an innovative chocolate brand which offers a unique product that combines rock and roll with some resembles from the old series B movies.
The most popular product are chocolate boxes that contain original chocolate figures shaped as Mexican wrestler masks plus the extra bonus of getting a movie poster of the same genre as well.
But this is not all; the offer is much wider as they have in stock skull-bonbons, salty cakes and sweets with inspiring names as Motorhead, Spider or Ace of Spades and milkshakes with 50’s design containers.
“It’s a fusion of all what we love: rock and roll, tattoos, comics, bikes and wrestling” states Filo Loco from Paris from where he manages the make.”The goal is build a universe that show the essence of who we are”.
The Dead delicious posy always hide their identity under masks in honour of wrestler fighters such el Santo (the Saint) or Demonio Azul (Blue Devil). Filo Loco doesn’t want to reveal much information about their identity although we know that his background is in the marketing field and that he met Big G through the bickers and tattoo world. King Santo is a famous French chef in charge of the cooking and Jimmy Pantera is a graphic designer who is also specialist in wrestling.
Dead delicious as an idea came to light after listening an old Mexican story about 4 wrestlers that in the 70’s opened a small diner next to the Arena (famous Mexican wrestler ring in Mexico DF). We heard the story and we decided to bring to life the concept as a food brand with chocolates sold mostly in Paris and cakes that can only be purchased in concerts and gigs.
Our chocolate bonbons are baked by a small artisan in Burgundy following the King Santo’s recipe. The cake selection is quite broad and includes chicken, lemon with hinojo, and salmon with milk and coconut with orange. Our priority is delivering a quality product, states Filo Loco, “Rock and Roll but perfect at all levels!”
2011 is looking bright so far, we will publish a book about wrestling and start a cooking show for French TV called “Food and curious” where King Santo will conduct the program from a wrestling ring about fusion food with a mix of that unique aesthetic and music signature.
